We opened Alice Park Nursery in spring 2008 and, from the start, offered a happy and relaxed atmosphere, delicious home-cooked lunches, a lovely garden and, not least, warm, highly trained and caring staff.
The team at Combe Down is equally committed to providing a safe, fun-filled, loving home-from-home that children can’t wait to get to each day. We don’t think you should have the tiniest worry when you walk away after dropping off your child, so we make sure our nursery is a lovely place that children really enjoy coming to, parents enjoy taking them to, and staff enjoy working at.
There’s plenty of indoor space for our activities, with lots of natural light. We have three main rooms downstairs for different age groups, three smaller ones upstairs for group work, and a unique sensory room with multi-coloured lights for everyone to enjoy, whether for chill-out sessions or gearing up for energetic games!
Outside there’s a large, secure grassy garden with a tarmac area to make scooters, trikes and bike-riding even more fun. We’ll also grow our own organic vegetables and eat them in delicious home-cooked lunches. Trust us: even the most resilient toddlers find vegetables tasty when they’ve nurtured and picked them!
In each room we provide a stimulating environment where our children learn as they play, often without realising it, following the four principles of The Early Years Foundation Stage. Basically, we help them to grow into happy, confident, caring, sharing individuals who are raring to go to school by the time they leave.
